Just Over 100

Multiply two numbers just above 100 in one quick step.

104 × 106 = 11024

104 × 106 is a rectangle split at 100: 10000, 400, 600 and 24.

The three hundred-sized pieces make 100 × 110 — which is 104 + 6, or 106 + 4.

Only the small corner is left: 4 × 6 = 24, so 104 × 106 = 11024.
